The main obstacle to the
development of a truly Lebanese film industry is the absence of centres
concerned with the movie industry such as ‘Hollywood’ in the United
States and ‘Cinecitta’ in Italy. The hope of having such centres depends

materialise there are two requirements: first, Lebanese filmmakers
should try their best to attract foreign investors through assuring them
of the profitability of their investments; second, the government should
provide guarantees to investors regarding, for example, taxation,
exemption of imported equipment from tariffs, less government control,
and freedom in taking their money out of the country.
